Army Contracting Command-National Capital Region Closing
The Army Contracting Command-National Capital Region contracting center located in Alexandria, Va., will close July 20, 2013. Workload is being distributed to other Army Contracting Command organizations, including Rock Island Arsenal, Ill., Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Warren, Mich., Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Redstone Arsenal, Ala., and the Mission and Installation Contracting Command offices at Fort Knox, Ky. and Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. Two offices from the former center will remain in the National Capital Region at Fort Belvoir, Va.
These include the Headquarters, Department of the Army Customer Support Element (assigned to Headquarters, Army Contracting Command) to handle support functions including customer support and coordination, and a Government Purchase Card office (assigned to ACC-New Jersey) to provide purchase card oversight.
